This clinical residency skill enhancement program will be for the dentist who want to improve their skills in general dental practice through hands on training program in fixed orthodontics ,endodontics ,aesthetic dentistry,dental implantology and minor oral surgery procedures.

The program duration is 2 months is at a stretch (Sundays holiday) where theory hands on will be conduct as per the requirement of the participants customized to improve their skills.

A) FIXED ORTHODONTICS

It program includes

  •  Armamentarium required – consumable, non-consumable materials.
  • How to use ,choose ,select and apply the instruments, pliers and materials.

Hands on Bonding, banding and wire placement exercises on plastic typodont

  • Clinical examination-extra oral, intra oral ,functional and case selection.
  • Classifications of malocclusion-cl-I,II,III, differentiate dental and skeletal problems.
  • Growth and development – maxilla & mandible, adolescent growth spurt detection.
  • Digital dental photography, preparing models.
  • Steps in bonding , banding and wire selection.

Hands on Four cast analysis ,case recording and diagnosis of orthodontic problems.

  • Model analysis, X-rays, OPG, Cephalometry, discussion on study models
  • Etiology of malocclusion
  • Biomechanics -of tooth movement- . Anchorage -controle,types
  • Treatment planning-space analysis ,extraction & non extraction philosophy-
  • Extraction choice which teeth ,why, when and how to decide.
  • Non extraction methods- distalization, up righting, de-rotation, expansion, stripping, serial extraction etc.

Hands on Twenty model analysis ,Cephalometrics tracing ,treatment planning on models .

  • Preadjusted edgewise techinque-(MBT)-introduction ,phylosophy,history,mechanics,anchorage controle,materials.
  • Stages-I,II,bonding ,banding, wiring, welding, soldering, wire sequence and selection.
  • Overbite control, over-jet reduction, space closure, finishing ,detailing,debondig.
  • How to manage different types of localised/generalised spacing cases –Wires selection

Hands on-How to treat generalised spacing case exercise on wax typhodont, bonding ,banding wiring and wire changing & finishing.10 cases model analysis ,Cephalometrics tracings,

  • How to manage crowding ,deep bite, open bite and cross bite cases –Wires selection
  • How to manage bi-maxillary protrusion cases –Wires selection
  • Orthopaedic and Functional appliances twin block and clinical application
  • Mini ortho implants –why ,how ,where & when.
  • Adult orthodontics, its limitations and precautions.
  • Concept of self ligating-

a)active and passive self ligating technique-DAMON,smart clip,Ten Brooks and Twist

b) Advantages,appliance and wire, case selection and case discussion

Hands on How to treat crowding cases ,bimaxillary protrusion,deep bite and open bite cases exercises on wax typhodont .Its bonding ,banding wiring and wire changing finishing. model analysis ,Cephalometrics tracing .Twin block, bite planes fabrication and delivery. demonstration of push coils, pull coils, tie back, rocking chair curves ,Materials and instruments identification. demonstration of self ligating systems

  • Case discussion of all other types of cl—ll D I ,D II and cl-lll, on models, orthodontic camouflaging treatment and protocols.

Hands on On 6 natural teeth of their choice per person to do

  • Access cavity prepration using hand and rotary instrumentation, PROTAPER/REVO-S/HERO SHAPERS your choice
  • Working length determination using apex locator and RVG &
  • Obturation by GP lateral and vertical condensation.
  • Post and core and retreatment retrieval of GP exercise
  • All the materials for hand and rotary hands on will be provided by us.Special emphasis in rotary endodontics hands on will be given.
